Welcome!
Thank you for taking the time to stop by and check out my build.
The premise of this build is to take a stock Chevy S10 and make it handle on a relatively small budget. It will be a daily driver and hopefully competitive in some Auto X events.
Please take some time to look at my photo galleries. Soon I will be posting updates in the blog area.
Rear Suspension and backhalf
The initial design of this suspension began while I still had my last truck. After getting in over my head with that project I parted it and decided to start fresh, concentrate on one aspect of the truck at a time. Most of the design was done in between trucks.
First decision was to pick a type and the related components. Offset three link with a frame mounted Watt's link was my suspension of choice. I used Triaged's three link calculator (you can find it on the web) to figure out the geometry. It took at least four different designs with multiple versions of each before I came up with numbers I was happy with. The frame rails were designed around the suspension and was done on both paper and Sketchup.
Front Suspension
The front suspension in the now common tall ball joint swap. What this does is raise roll center, increases camber gain and reduces bump steer. There are several different ways to do the swap using different types of arms and ball joints. I chose the most cost effective combination which includes UB Machine upper control arms that use a stock C10 ball joint available at any parts store.
Other parts include steel bushings, Hellwig 1 1/4" sway bar, stock lower control arms and stock spindles.
